Whether one knows Jesus as Lord
a child of God reborn
or a heathen who is still lost
holding God in much scorn

shall find that life has its hardships
each one must face the storms
of major trials most difficult
evil in many forms
____
as the rains come and the winds blow
swift water rises high
the house that’s built upon the sand
is destroyed by and by
____
but the house built upon the rock
shall weather any gale
because of faith and trust in God
God’s word applied prevails
____
disciples of Christ aren’t exempt
from suffering and toil
but have the everlasting word
which Satan cannot spoil
____
for the time one has to endure
upon this world gone mad
separated reserved for God
is short to what one has
____
and then the suffering is past
gone are the storms of life
when Jesus calls each Christian home
to peace away from strife
